InoBat and Gus Technology enter strategic partnership to produce InoBat batteries.
InoBat Auto (“InoBat”), the European pioneer of premium electric vehicle battery R&D, engineering, production and recycling, has agreed that GUS Technology (GUS), a lithium-ion battery manufacturer based in Taiwan, will produce and deliver batteries to help meet forecasted demand.
GUS will manufacture InoBat’s innovative batteries at its new serial production facility, which is scheduled for 1GWH operation in Q4 2023. The agreement will fulfil offtake demand for InoBat’s batteries ahead of its Slovakian facility reaching full operational capacity.
InoBat’s bespoke batteries are tailor-made to serve each customer’s individual needs and GUS‘ specialisation in NCM and LTO cells, which are scalable to various dimensions, is ideally aligned to this offering. Both companies hold sustainability at the core of their outlook and operating processes.
As well as enabling InoBat to meet demand, the agreement with GUS will also support InoBat’s ambitions in the Asian Pacific battery market, which is projected to grow significantly across the next decade.
GUS has the capability to support InoBAT, particularly from its base in Taiwan and connections in Asia Paficic. InoBat will help open up European markets to GUS, particularly in its Energy Stationary Storage and AGV product lines.
InoBat will welcome GUS staff to its production facility in Slovakia during the production line commissioning in 2023 as part of a knowledge sharing and relationship building programme.
Marian Bocek, CEO of InoBat commented:
I’m delighted to be partnering with GUS. Like InoBat, GUS are pioneers in battery technology and share a similar sustainability ethos.
“Our mutually beneficial agreement will see GUS produce InoBat batteries to fulfil our growing demand while providing us with access to the critical Asia Pacific market and GUS access to the European market. This partnership will support our production facility in Slovakia as it grows in capacity as well as our recently announced site in Indiana, USA and our next site in Europe.”
C.C. Chang, CEO of GUS Technology said
I am excited at this strategic cooperation.
“For GUS, with our expertise and technology in the production of pouch cell for high-end battery. We are looking forward to work with the market leading innovators like InoBat, exploring more possible energy solutions with high security to the market.”
“Taiwan has the strategic position in global technology ecosystem. We would like to work with InoBat and create the agility to response the customer demand from global perspective.”
