XCharge North America’s GridLink Wins “Battery Charging Technology Solution of the Year” in 2025 AutoTech Breakthrough Awards Program
KYLE, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–XCharge North America (“XCharge NA”), the North American subsidiary of XCHG Limited (Nasdaq: XCH) (“XCharge”) and a provider of high-power EV charging and battery-integrated solutions designed to strengthen the North American electrical grid, today announced that GridLink has been selected as “Battery Charging Technology Solution of the Year” in the sixth annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by AutoTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global automotive and transportation technology markets.
XCharge NA’s GridLink is a battery-integrated DC fast charging solution that fundamentally rethinks EV charging on the continent. By acting as both a high-power charger and a distributed energy resource, GridLink helps utilities avoid overloads and outages by storing cleaner, cheaper power during off-peak hours and returning it to the grid when demand spikes. Its advanced design, including a powerful 10A active balancer and triple liquid-cooled plates, enhances battery performance and longevity, while a multi-sensor warning system and Level 2 fire protection ensure the highest safety standards in compliance with UL 9540A.
GridLink’s groundbreaking technology directly addresses a critical barrier to EV adoption: the high cost and grid instability of conventional fast chargers, particularly in rural and remote regions. With onboard battery storage and bidirectional energy flow, GridLink delivers ultra-fast charging up to 300kW, even where the grid is unstable. Already deployed in over 50 locations across North America—from municipal fleets to remote travel plazas—GridLink units delivered over 1.1 gigawatt-hours of energy in 2024, preventing nearly 3 million pounds of CO2 emissions and proving how integrated infrastructure can build a more resilient energy future. It is also among the first solar-plus-storage DC fast chargers in the nation, meaning it seamlessly integrates with solar arrays, supporting up to 60kW of solar input.
Aatish Patel, co-founder and president of XCharge NA, said:
In a time of growing energy demands and grid vulnerabilities, we are honored to be recognized for providing a solution that is not just about charging speed, but about increasing resilience, sustainability, and grid support,
The mission of the annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards program is to conduct the industry’s most comprehensive analysis and evaluation of automotive and transportation technology categories, including Autonomous Driving, Artificial Intelligence, Electric Vehicles, Engine Tech, Automotive Cybersecurity, Telematics, Sensor Technology, Fleet Management, Traffic Tech, and many more. This year’s program attracted thousands of nominations from over 15 different countries throughout the world.
Bryan Vaughn, managing director, AutoTech Breakthrough, said:
Beyond its powerful charging capabilities, GridLink helps offset grid demand and enhance resilience and flexibility, bolstering its location’s existing energy infrastructure.
“EV infrastructure has, for too long, been reserved for high-tech, urban areas when it should be everywhere. However, the relatively unstable energy grid in many areas can’t keep up.GridLink solves this problem with its massive onboard battery storage and bidirectional energy flow, enabling ultra-fast charging even in places where the grid is unstable. Built for resilience, speed, and sustainability, GridLink fundamentally rethinks what EV charging can be, and we’re thrilled to award XCharge with ‘Battery Charging Technology Solution of the Year!’”
