US awards Ford-backed Solid Power a $12,5 million battery contract.
Ford-backed battery maker Solid Power Inc said that the U.S. government had awarded the company a contract of up to $12.5 million for developing nickel- and cobalt-free solid-state battery cells.
In June, Solid Power had agreed to go public through a merger with shell company Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation III, valuing the combined firm at around $1.2 billion.
