UK Battery Industrialisation Centre UKBIC launches new graduate programme.
The UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBC) has launched a brand-new graduate programme for those seeking entry to the fast-growing UK battery sector.
- Commercial – Finance, Procurement, HR, Business Development, PR & Marketing
- Manufacturing Engineering / Operations
- Technology / Research and Development
The programme will last for two years with each role or project rotation every three to six months.
During each rotation, graduates will get to work with senior and experienced colleagues from the battery sector, either working for UKBIC, its customers or suppliers.
The Manufacturing and Technology/R&D schemes are for individuals who have completed an under – or postgraduate STEM qualification in an industry relevant subject. Meanwhile, the Commercial scheme is for individuals who have completed an under – or postgraduate qualification in subjects related or relevant to the rotations the programme offers.

“Our graduate programme is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door of this exciting, fast-growing industry, which according to the Faraday Institution predicts, that by 2040, could employ in the UK upwards of 270,000 people in electric vehicle manufacturing, gigafactories and the battery supply chain.”
UKBIC, which was officially opened by the Prime Minister in July 2021, provides UK battery manufacturing scale-up and skills for the battery sector, and is used by organisations working on batteries for applications including electric vehicles, rail, aerospace, industrial and domestic equipment and static energy storage.
