Tesla is allowed to build another gigafactory hall – probably for the battery factory.
[Tagesspiegel] The US electric car manufacturer Tesla is now allowed to build a huge hall on the site of the Giga-Factory in Grünheide, which according to Tagesspiegel information is to accommodate the battery cell factory announced by Elon Musk in the future.A drone video of the construction progress in Grünheide, which was published on Youtube this week, shows (from minute 19:35) already the foundation work for the additional factory. These have already been approved, the new decision relates to the construction work.
On request, the oder-Spree district confirmed that planning permission for a warehouse has now been granted.

Conditions had been imposed for the construction work and subsequent operation.
According to Tagesspiegel information, the hall, which was requested and approved as a warehouse with around 22,000 square meters of floor space, is about three times the size of a football stadium according to UEFA standards. Apparently, it is planned to apply for a conversion later.
Tesla recently applied for a reinterpretation of the permit application in the current environmental approval process for the auto factory to add the battery factory. The start of car production is delayed from July at least until October 2021.
