Pure Battery Technologies (PBT) appoints Staffan Ever as CEO to lead next phase of growth
Brisbane, Australia, 26 February 2026, Pure Battery Technologies (PBT) has appointed Staffan Ever as Chief Executive Officer as the company moves into its next phase of commercial scale-up following a €23.7 million conditional funding commitment from the German Government.
PBT’s outgoing CEO, Bjorn Zikarsky, will transition from day-to-day leadership after seven years at the helm and will continue as an Executive Director and Board member to support an orderly handover and ongoing execution. During Mr Zikarsky’s tenure, PBT progressed from start-up through to industrial demonstration and delivery, secured multiple grants and funding programmes, and established strategic momentum through MOUs and partnership agreements with market leaders.
Mr Zikarsky said,

“With the conditional grant from the German Government and the next stage underway, this is the right time to introduce new energy and additional capability to accelerate our growth. I remain deeply committed to PBT and will support Staffan and the team as an Executive Director.”
Mr Ever brings extensive experience in resources investment and capital fundraising, with deep networks across the global resources and industrial ecosystem.
Mr Ever said,
PBT has reached an inflection point,
“Our focus now is finalising the funding and delivering the Hagen expansion, progressing strategic partnerships (including offtake agreements), and positioning PBT for the next phase of growth. I’m looking forward to applying my experience to expand PBT’s footprint in Indonesia and the United States. My immediate priority is to de-risk the capital pathway and build a platform for sustained, long- term growth. We will build on the progress already made, deepen collaboration with our existing partners, and broaden engagement with industry and government stakeholders as we scale.”
