Porsche plans joint venture for high-performance battery cells. The Sports car manufacturer Porsche advances its plans for a joint venture with other partners for the production of high-performance battery cells.
The Federal Cartel Office is currently listing a proposed joint venture on its website in a list of ongoing merger control proceedings.
In addition to Porsche, the company, called Cellforce Group, based in Tübingen, will also be involved with the Fraunhofer spin-off Custom Cells from Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holstein and the Stuttgart-based software developer P3 Group.
Porsche did not wish to comment on the state of play or the plans on request. It was also unclear when the Antitrust Office would be approved.

It is understood that the car maker intends to have high-performance battery cells manufactured for special special vehicles, for example in the field of motorsport, through the cooperation in Tübingen.
For its electric series models, the company buys battery cells elsewhere.
The sports car manufacturer wants to make common cause in battery production with the Tübingen-based company Cellforce. Merger control proceedings are currently under way.
