NOMAD Powers California’s Shift From Diesel Generators to Mobile Batteries With Support From CORE Voucher Program.
California industries in search of clean, quiet, reliable power have a new reason to look to NOMAD Transportable Power Systems now that NOMAD units are eligible for vouchers of up to $300,000 under the state’s Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Program (CORE).
NOMAD offers North American-manufactured mobile battery energy storage solutions that can replace diesel generators with clean, silent battery power. CORE vouchers are now available for five NOMAD solutions:
Unit | Capacity | Base Voucher Amount |
Pathfinder | 230 kWh | $92,000 |
Voyager 1.0 | 1,328 kWh | $300,000 |
Voyager 2.0 (500 kW) | 1,328 kWh | $300,000 |
Voyager 2.0 (999 kW) | 1,329 kWh | $300,000 |
Traveler | 1,993 kWh | $300,000 |
CORE is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, improving public health and the environment and providing meaningful benefits to communities. The Cap-and-Trade Program also creates a financial incentive for industries to invest in clean technologies and develop innovative ways to reduce pollution.
Braxten Gorrill, NOMAD’s Chief Financial Officer, emphasized that the program is a perfect match for the solutions offered by the company:
At NOMAD, we serve a growing list of industries that need to dispatch clean, reliable power to sites ranging from blockbuster sets to some of the most challenging locations on the planet.
NOMAD units power outdoor concerts without the noise, smoke and smells that can spoil the experience. NOMAD units also allow manufacturers to keep the lights on and operations running during power outages. NOMAD units will soon be deployed in Vermont to back up grid systems that experience reliability issues.
Gorrill said California, which boasts the world’s 5th largest economy, has several sectors that can take advantage of NOMAD. These include television and film, concerts, athletic events, data centers, agriculture, extractive industries and colleges and universities. He said the company is also developing new units that offer dispatchable EV charging to meet seasonal or event-driven demand spikes.
“California has long been committed to curtailing pollution with innovative solutions that support economic growth and environmental progress, and our portfolio of mobile power solutions can help advance these goals,” he said.
