[BRACKLEY, UK] March 05 2025 – IONETIC, the software-accelerated EV battery pack technology company, is strengthening its leadership team with the appointment of Steve Boulter as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately.
Boulter brings extensive experience in battery pack technology. As CTO, Boulter will lead IONETIC’s technology strategy, overseeing the delivery of its groundbreaking Arc technology stack, which dramatically reduces cost, risk, and time to market for niche vehicle manufacturers. His appointment comes as IONETIC scales up capability following the recent launch of its Arc Fab Pilot facility, a major milestone in its mission to transform battery pack production.
Steve Boulter, Chief Technology Officer at IONETIC said:
The battery pack in an electric vehicle is intrinsically linked to the competitiveness of the product. OEMs today face a dilemma: invest huge sums of money in bespoke solutions or choose an ‘off-the-shelf’ battery that is not optimised for their needs.
“IONETIC is changing this. Our software, hardware, and fabrication technology stack, Arc, is truly revolutionary and will enable our customers to deliver incredible electrified products at a fraction of the investment usually associated with custom battery pack design. I am thrilled to be joining such an enthusiastic and future-focused team.”
IONETIC’s Arc technology stack combines AI-driven software, adaptable hardware, and flexible fabrication, dramatically cutting the time and cost of developing custom battery packs. Designed to provide custom battery packs for low-volume OEMs producing under 10,000 units per year, Arc enables multiple custom battery packs to be built on a single production line, slashes commissioning time by up to two-thirds, and unlocks multi-million-dollar savings in development costs.
James Eaton, CEO & Co-Founder at IONETIC said:
Our vision has always been to make electrification possible and compelling for all OEMs.
“This can only be achieved with a much improved way to develop custom battery packs – and this is exactly what IONETIC is doing. Bringing Steve onboard brings an incredible level of expertise and experience to that vision, but also is a great endorsement of what we’ve built so far and will continue to build.”
Boulter joins IONETIC from Agratas, where he was Vice President of Product Engineering. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at Jaguar Land Rover, where he led the vehicle engineering for Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle, the I-PACE, later becoming Head of Advanced Battery Development.
As CTO, he will work alongside IONETIC’s leadership team, including co-founders James Eaton and Dr. Monica Marinescu, Chairman Andy Palmer – former CEO of Aston Martin and COO of Nissan – as well as Chief Manufacturing Officer Stephen Large, who played an instrumental role in establishing Jaguar Land Rover’s £250 million battery manufacturing facility.
