InoBat to go public in $1,27B SPAC deal to expand battery storage for AI and data centers
InoBat has agreed to merge with special purpose acquisition company Cartesian Growth Corporation II in a deal valuing the European battery energy storage company at approximately $1.265 billion. The transaction will provide InoBat with access to Nasdaq public markets and $77.5 million in committed private investment.
The Slovakia-based company manufactures battery energy storage systems through its BESSMONT platform and has delivered or contracted 875 megawatt-hours of utility-scale projects across Europe. InoBat aims to capitalise on growing electricity demand from AI infrastructure and data centres.
The deal includes $77.5 million of PIPE financing and carries no minimum cash condition. InoBat plans to use the capital to expand manufacturing capacity and develop sodium-ion battery technology alongside its lithium-ion offerings.
The transaction is expected to close in late 2026, subject to customary conditions. Following completion, the combined company will trade on Nasdaq under ticker symbol INBT.
