German-American Cooperation in Battery Research.
It is an important milestone for the cooperation between MEET Battery Research Center at the University of Münster and the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago: By signing a Memorandum of Understanding, both partners have now confirmed the further expansion of their collaboration.
While the exchange in battery research will initially be promoted, other research fields will also be worked on jointly by both universities in the future.

The Memorandum of Understanding is an important step for the further internationalization of MEET Battery Research Center.
Prof. Dr Martin Winter, scientific leadership of MEET Battery Research Center and Director of Helmholtz Institute Münster of Forschungszentrum Jülich, explains the significance of the declaration for the institute in Münster. The aim is to intensify the cooperation between the institutions through joint seminars, summer schools, workshops, conferences and the exchange of students and PhD students.
There has been close contact between Prof. Y. Shirley Meng, Professor of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, and Prof. Dr Martin Winter, who jointly pushed forward the Memorandum of Understanding.
This letter of intent was officially signed in September by Juan de Pablo, Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation, National Laboratories at the University of Chicago and Prof. Dr Johannes Wessels, Rector of the University of Münster. The declaration is initially valid for five years and is coordinated by the International Office of the University of Münster.
