Core Lithium said it is targeting a final investment decision to start construction on its Finniss Lithium Project, located in the Northern Territory, before the end of 2021.

Lithium miners are set to benefit from climbing prices for the raw material used in electric-vehicle batteries as demand recovers, according to filings made by Australian firms earlier this year.

The lithium explorer also said a study outlined 10 years of production from the wholly owned project, and it is looking to start delivery of spodumene concentrate to customers in 2022.

Core Lithium reiterated its capital expenditure forecast of A$89 million ($65.41 million) for the project, targeting an average production of 173,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of high-quality lithium concentrate.
