Continued progress for Echion Technologies with signing of MoU with LI-FUN Technology, Chinese battery cell development and manufacturing company.

We are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading Chinese battery cell development and manufacturing company, LI-FUN Technology (LI-FUN).

Signed at LI-FUN’s 10th anniversary celebrations on the 25th November 2023, the MoU formalises the ongoing collaboration between the two companies. Under the MoU, LI-FUN will be supplied with Echion’s innovative XNO® niobium-based anode material and gain access to Echion’s electrochemistry support. Echion shall benefit from LI-FUN’s experience working with innovative battery chemistries and mass production capabilities.

XNO® provides unique performance in lithium-ion batteries that enable the highest uptime and lowest total cost of ownership that are ideal for industrial applications. Lithium-ion batteries powered by XNO® can safely charge in less than 10 minutes, maintain high energy densities even at low temperatures, and deliver high power across a cycle life of more than 10,000 cycles.

Ben Ting, Chief Commercial Officer at Echion, commented:

Formalising our relationship with LI-FUN will enable us to combine the products and expertise from both companies to unlock new battery solutions for heavy-duty applications.

“Echion is committed to operating at the forefront of innovation and LI-FUN is a great partner to work with, with an excellent track record of bringing to market cells with new, innovative chemistries. Echion and LI-FUN are aligned to delivering high-performance, low environmental impact and safe batteries that heavy-duty applications desperately need.”

Dinol Tseng, Sales Director at LI-FUN, said:

We are committed to exploring innovative chemistries to increase the performance and safety of battery technologies.

“This is evidenced in our pioneering work with sodium-ion battery cells and now by our work with Echion’s XNO® anode materials. To manufacture the batteries of the future, we must embrace and explore alternative chemistries, and we genuinely believe that XNO® will greatly impact the mass electrification of heavy-duty vehicles.”
