[LONDON, UK] February 13th 2024: Leading supplier of physics-based adaptive charging software for batteries, Breathe Battery Technologies, today announced the successful completion of its ASPICE assessment.
ASPICE (Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) evaluates software development processes against stringent automotive industry standards. Breathe achieved ASPICE ‘Level 2, Managed’ in nine processes, and ‘Level 1, Performed’ in an additional three, proving it can reliably deliver high-quality software solutions for the automotive sector.
The assessment highlighted numerous strengths across Breathe’s operations, including the company’s strategic recruitment of experienced team members and effective startup mentality. Strong executive sponsorship ensured necessary resources were readily available, while comprehensive project management systems tracked everything from resource allocation to technical debt.
The report concluded that Breathe also demonstrated excellence in risk management and quality assurance, particularly in its approach to understanding and improving customer requirements through enhanced specification processes and systematic validation procedures.
The assessment was conducted by Markus Mueller, one of the industry’s most experienced ASPICE assessors, with over three decades of process improvement expertise.
Christian Korte, Head of Software and Engineering at Breathe said:
This achievement represents a fundamental milestone in our journey to revolutionise battery charging technology.
“The successful ASPICE assessment validates our development processes and positions us to better serve our automotive partners with enterprise-grade software that meets the industry’s high standards.”
Markus Mueller from ASPICE said:
What stands out about Breathe is its ability to maintain the agility of a technology innovator while implementing robust processes that meet automotive standards.
” Its experienced team, strong risk management, and commitment to quality demonstrate a mature approach to software development that’s remarkable for a growing technology company.”
Last year Breathe partnered with Volvo Cars, making them the first car company to gain access to the latest version of Breathe’s patented, algorithm-enabled charging software. This partnership will provide Volvo customers with up to 30% faster charging and an enhanced overall driving and charging experience, paving the way for a more seamless transition to an electrified future.
As Breathe Battery Technologies continues to grow and innovate, it remains true to its founding dream: a world where everyone breathes clean air. By making batteries better and helping brands do more with the power they have, Breathe is not just riding the wave of electrification – it’s helping to create it.
